Rockville, MD, May 20, 2008/PRNewswire/ -- Aronson & Company, a nationally ranked top 50 accounting and consulting firm, recently announced the winner of the grand prize for their Show Us Your Future video submission contest created last fall. The winning entrant is Casey Bennington, a senior at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg, VA.
“Casey’s video was funny and creative, but most of all, it showed that today’s students are really thinking about what the future holds for them,” commented Lisa J. Cines, Aronson & Company’s Managing Officer. “We are learning a lot about this new workforce – their demands, their needs and their expectations – and it’s very exciting to be able to design programs and policies that address these unique characteristics.”
In September, Aronson & Company launched the Show Us Your Future video submission contest geared toward college accounting and finance majors entering the job market. In order to win the grand prize, a student-to-professional makeover worth more than $2,500, entrants were asked to submit a three minute video that creatively demonstrated where they saw themselves after graduation. The video entries were posted on YouTube.com and streamed to the contest website, www.showusyourfuture.com, where people viewed and rated the videos, with the highest number of votes going to Bennington’s video.
Bennington remarked on the appeal of the Show Us Your Future approach, “Increased advances and implementations of technology are allowing students and employers to get in touch with each other so easily that it is shaking the very foundations of traditional job hunting.”
Bennington will be traveling to Aronson & Company headquarters in Rockville, Md. on May 28-29 to receive his grand prize, which includes such individual prizes as professional image services, clothing, resume consultations, housing stipends, a cash award and more.
